Current research involves developing sophisticated mathematical and computational techniques to gain insight into complex physiological systems/processes. His research is funded extramurally by the American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR) and the National Library of Medicine (NLM/NIH). Research problems currently under investigation include:
- Genetic Networks: How group of genes work in concert as a system and respond to environmental stress?
- Inferring heterogeneity and functional relationships from gene expression profiles
- Idiosyncrasies of microarrays
- Long-range correlated and heavy-tailed processes
