Dr. Milanova’s professional interests include image processing and computer graphics, expert systems, AI, decision-support systems, data mining, and bioinformatics. She has developed different new algorithms for feature extraction on the base of Sparse Coding Theory and Probabilistic Data Modelling. She also has collaborative projects related to modelling and simulation of biomedical data using Evoke Potential Signals , Magnetic Resonance (MR) and Computer Topography ( CT ) images . She has written or co-authored over 50 professional articles and two patents. She is also a member of the technical community TC2 and TC3 of IAPR ( International Association of Pattern Recognition), IEEE and Computer Society and Vice President of Bulgarian Association of Pattern Recognition.
